The Automatic Fire Extinguisher Ball is a decorative fire extinguisher apparatus that utilizes a micro gas generating system much like an airbag to disperse a dry chemical into a fire and put it out. After 3-10 seconds of contact with the fire, the ball automatically deploys, releasing a fire-retardant chemical that is safe and toxic free, even for children and pets. Yes. It is safe. If it is out of the box and it encounters fire it automatically will pop to put out the fire. The included harness can be screwed into the trunk and hold it so that the box is not inhibiting the function. If a fire were to happen elsewhere, you can easily and quickly retrieve it from the trunk and safely toss the ball at the fire.
Outdoor? On a wall that gets sunlight?The Fireball can be mounted outside but direct UV light and hail should be avoided to prolong the life of the exterior polystyrene shell and shrink-wrapped design, which both serve a functional purpose besides just holding the contents waterproof. Sunlight will only accelerate the deterioration of the device, but will not activate it. In direct intense sunlight, you should still expect at least a 5-year life. When installing out of direct sunlight you should expect at least a 15-year life of the product. If the shell becomes brittle or cracked it is time to replace it.
Can this be stored in freezing temperature?Yes. It is freeze-tolerant.
