Belemnite Divided Oval Dish // Ver.2
Product Description
This beautiful hand-carved ammonite and belemnite oval dish is from the Atlas Mountains in South Morocco and features a belemnite fossil dividing the dish in half, creating two handy compartments to store jewelry or other loose items. Ammonites and belemnites are extinct species of orthoceras, an ancient relative to the modern-day cephalopod ā otherwise known as squids or nautilus. Ammonites and belemnites fossilize over a limestone bed and have an estimated age of about 370 million years, hailing from the Devonian period. This ancient specimen of fossils in shale turned modern home decor makes for the perfect gift to add aesthetic value and history to any home or office. As this is a natural item, it may vary slightly in appearance from the picture and weight and dimensions are approximate.
