Product Description

This specimen is an extremely ornamented member of the Selenopeltis species of trilobites. Their long appendages afford them controlled escape from the water column, and they used them to sink to the ocean floor mimicking falling organic debris to escape predators. This cluster from Djbel Ougrat, Morocco comes from the Ordovician Period, making it 480-450 million years old.
