This massive 9" Basilosaurus tooth was discovered in Dakhla Western Sahara, South Morocco and dates back 40 to 34 million years ago to the Late Eocene Period. Basilosaurus was first thought to be a reptile but was later identified as a genus of ancient cetaceans. Unlike modern cetaceans, basilosaurus had various types of teeth in its mouth and was able to chew its food. This tooth's unique shape and size make it a stunning addition to any collection.
