Genuine Seymchan Meteorite Ring Size 6.5 in Sterling Silver
Product Description
Seymchan Meteorite showcases a signature crystalline pattern—among the most robust and lustrous of any meteorite. This exquisite natural design, referred to as a Widmanstätten pattern, is the result of the very slow intergrowth of two iron-nickel minerals (kamacite and taenite), which in effect makes this extraterrestrial steel. The molten metal deep within the core of the asteroid crystallized as taenite during cooling. The amount of nickel determines the type of crystalline pattern that will form, making this piece incredibly unique. This meteorite was found in the dry bed of the river Hekandue, a left tributary of river Jasačnaja in the Magadan district, Russia, near the settlement of Seymchan, in June 1967.
