This large Muonionalusta meteorite freeform slice is set in a sterling silver and comes with an 18" sterling silver chain. The pendant displays all sides of the meteorite. The Muonionalusta is a meteorite classified as fine octahedrite, type IVA (Of) which impacted in northern Scandinavia, west of the border between Sweden and Finland, about one million years BCE.The meteorite was first described in 1910 by Professor A. G. Högbom, who named it "Muonionalusta", after a nearby place on the Muonio River. It fell 110,000 years ago but was discovered in 1906. You will receive the exact object as in these photos.
