Blue coral (Heliopora coerulea) is a species of colonial coral, and the only octocoral known to produce a massive skeleton. The individual polyps live in tubes within the skeleton and are connected by a thin layer of tissue over the outside of the skeleton. Blue ridge corals have a gorgeous natural color only mother nature can provide. This piece has been cut flat on the bottom so it can stand up on its own.
