This is a hand-shaped polished Labradorite egg from Madagascar. This piece has a beautiful, iridescent play of colors— blue and yellow which is caused by internal fractures in the mineral that reflect light back and forth, dispersing it into different colors.

Can it be submerged in water?

Labradorite is slightly water-sensitive and its beautiful shine and luster can disintegrate if submerged in water for a long period of time. Labradorite is fine with a quick rinse in running water but it is not recommended to use in an aquarium.
