Product Description

This high iron content meteorite was recovered from the desert of Oman. Dhofar 020 has a dark-brown desert varnished exterior and, when cut and polished, shows a brown to almost black internal matrix with metal veins and dark chondrules. They contain abundant chondrules, sparse matrix (10–15% of the rock), few refractory inclusions, and variable amounts of Fe-Ni metal and troilite (FeS). The fall of this meteorite was not observed, however this meteorite was found in the desert of Oman in the year 2000.
