Orthoceras Fossil v.2
Product Description
A stunning clustered plate of Orthoceras fossils in sea-bed matrix. The orthoceras mollusk lived in abundance during the Paleozoic Era, some 250 to 750 million years ago. A member of the class Cephalopoda, it was closely related to the extinct giant Cephalopod and present-day chambered nautilus.
Orthoceras ("straight horn") is a slender, elongated shell with the middle of the body chamber transversely constricted, and a subcentral orthochoanitic siphuncle. The surface is ornamented by a network of fine lirae. You will receive the exact object in this photo. This product comes with a Certificate of Authentication.
