Early 20th C. Ngombe Steel & Wood Short Sword
Product Description
Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ngombe speaking peoples, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A handsome steel short sword with a thin, leaf-shaped blade that has a very gentle, wide ridge at its center and a rattan-wrapped, four-lobed wooden handle.
Condition: Intact, with great patina on all surfaces. Small area of damage near tip of blade on one side. Light wear commensurate with age including some chips, nicks, and scratches.
