Product Description

Western Europe, France or Germany, probably WWI period, ca. early 20th century CE. A fine example of a European military bayonet of the style used in the first half of that century. Stamped on the upper part of the blade is a series of numbers and letters, partially visible: "WD/45/3.8".

Condition: Light patina on surface with some small scratches/nicks on the edge of the socket. The stamped letters and numbers near the upper part of the blade are somewhat difficult to read and partially worn. However, overall it is in excellent condition for its age.

FAQ
Is it possible this is either an 1895 Russian Winchester bayonet or a Spanish rolling block bayonet?

Generally, if we're not 100% confident on exact identification, we give a general identification. The most we can confirm is that it is early 20th century, and likely WWI period, so a bit late for 1895.
