AntLife founder Jacob Lemanski traveled 38,000 miles by bicycle over 999 days, crossing six continents and circling the earth twice. After such a long period of introspection and a constantly scrolling landscape, he returned home with a strong desire to create something living.
He created The Ant Space, a habitat which hangs on the wall like a painting, and is illuminated from within the frame, by LEDs that change color with a smartphone app, and shine out through the tunnels. Just add seeds and ants, then watch as the life inside creates art.
The ants will build and collapse tunnels as they establish their colony, creating an ever-changing, intergalactic scenery that's literally alive with motion, and awash with color. Truly living wall art.
