Roman Bronze Lamp With Stand // 1st - 2nd Century AD
Product Description
This is a beautiful Roman bronze lamp with stand from the 1st - 2nd Century AD, with a long nozzle and a circular spout, and a wick hole with indented sides.
The fill-hole is fitted with the original lid with a nicely turned knob, the handle at back curving upward and surmounted by the head of a horse. The base is flared, with central square hole to fit onto the stand, which is beautifully shaped and stands on tripod legs with near circular feet. The lamp and stand are both well-preserved with nice green patination beneath light deposits.
