Pre-Columbian. Moche, c. 400- 700 AD. A fantastic Moche III-V Head Pot. It depicts the head of a male warrior, with wide, expressive eyes and pronounced nose, wearing large earspools and jaguar-headed headdress. Brick red to burned black coloration with root marks and traces of original white pigment details. H: 5.15”, repaired. From the estate of David Sheridan, Branchburg, NJ, formed starting in the 1950’s, thence by descent to the family.
