Product Description

An excellent ancient Greek black glazed pottery skyphos dating from the 4th Century BC—the time of Alexander the Great! Delicately made, with two horizontal handles, the body with vertical ribbing, and a painted band of “waves” along the rim. Multiple very old collectors’ labels under the small ring foot. Intact and un-restored, with only a few abrasions and chips.
