Ancient Roman, 3rd - 4th Century AD. Massive bronze "Crossbow-fibula" toga pin. A military-issued item, worn by high ranking figures in the legion. A Roman soldier's / Legionary type, with high arched body for thick material to fit through. Worn over the shoulder. Gorgeous brassy-green patina, nice incised detail overall. Original pin lost to history.
