Medieval Armenia, time of the Crusades. Cilician Kingdom, King Levon I (1198 - 1219 AD). Nice silver tram, Sis mint. King seated on throne ornamented with lions, his feet resting on a footstool, wearing a crown and royal mantle on his shoulders. He holds a cross in his right hand and fleur-de-lis in his left. Armenian inscription: "+ Levon King of the Armenians" / Two lions rampant back-to-back, each with heads reverted; patriarchal cross with two bars between them. Armenian inscription: "+ By the will of God." ref: Nercessian, ACV no. 282-297 for type. Encapsulated and graded Extremely Fine Details by NGC! Coin diameter 21mm (7/8”), archival slab measures 3.125" x 2.125" x 0.375”.
