Ancient Roman, 3rd - 4th Century AD. Large bronze "Crossbow-fibula" toga pin. A Roman soldier's / Legionary type, with high arched body for thick material to fit through. A military-issued item, worn by high ranking figures in the legion. Worn over the shoulder. Gorgeous brassy-green patina, nice detail. Original pin lost to history.
