Ancient Rome, circa 1st - 3rd century AD. A tiny but beautiful carved marble head of a woman. She is depicted with wide eyes, smiling lips, her hair rolled back behind her head. Lovely patina. A mini masterpiece done by a highly skilled artisan in ancient times. The head measures just 12mm (1/2 inch) high! Mounted in archival display frame (frame measures 4" across).
