Product Description

An extremely rare Medieval 12th Century bronze sewing thimble from Hispano-Moresque Spain, dating from the time of the Crusades! By far the oldest thimble I have ever had. It is quite large, measuring 1.75 inches long and 1 inch across. It is beautifully preserved with dark olive-green to mahogany-red patina and light earthen deposits, dotted pattern overall. It was slightly compressed in antiquity causing the hole to be uneven, and a 5/8-inch crack on one edge. A true collector piece!
