Biblical "Poor Widow's Mite" coin. Bronze prutah, coin type mentioned in the Bible. Minted during the 1st Century BC but circulated throughout Judaea during the time of Christ. The coin depicts a wheel with 8 ray-like spokes, Hebrew inscription ”Yehonatan the King" on one side, and a Seleucid anchor, with Greek "BASILEWS ALEXANDPOY" on the other. ref: Hendin 1150 for type. Coin diameter 14 mm, with gorgeous detail and dark brassy tone. Encapsulated and graded Choice Very Fine by NGC. Archival slab measures 3.125" x 2.125" x 0.375”.
