Product Description
Ancient Roman North Africa, c. 5th - 6th Century AD. An excellent and large red-ware oil lamp, the discus decorated with a palm tree. The tree is well-detailed with fill-holes to either side, the shoulder decorated with circular, cruciform, "checkerboard", floral and heart-shaped ivy leaf punches, with a raised circular base on bottom. L: 6 inches. Extremely well-preserved with nice reddish tone and light earthen and mineral deposits.
