Ancient Islamic, Seljuqs of Rum // Excellent Silver Dirham
Product Description
This Ancient Islamic Seljuqs (Seljuks) of Rum coin was struck under “The Three Brothers” (Kayka’us II, Qilij Arslan IV, and ‘Ala al-Din Kaykubad II), circa AH 647-657 (1249-1259 CE). They were the three sons of Kaykhusraw II and Prodoulia, their Greek mother, who was the daughter of a priest. This partial Greek lineage caused them to remain close with the Greeks of Nicaea throughout their reign, having basically Christian/Muslim dual religious and ethnic identities. Grades MS61 To About Uncirculated!
