Ancient Greece, c. 3rd century BC. A fantastic Canosan ceramic kantharos, or wine cup. A stemmed cup with a flaring rim, tapering body, pedestaled foot, two high, sweeping ear-shaped handles, and polychrome painting of white palmettes on the red ground, mostly fading, otherwise intact with remains of sinter.
