Original "Pirate" Gun // Spanish Percussion Lock Belt Pistol
Product Description
This is a Spanish Percussion Lock Belt Pistol, circa mid to late 18th century. This type was commonly used by seafaring pirates at the time. There's engraved decoration where the barrel steps down to round, as well as all brass furniture with the exception of the iron barrel band.
The stock features a checkered butt and incise carved rays emanating from the brass buttcap. It is in overall excellent with nice smooth patina and just one very old minor hairline under the lock. There are incised carved decorations on the underside of the forestock, as well as an iron belt hook opposite the lock.
The gun does not stay at cock but could easily be repaired. The ramrod is absent and this piece remains in unfireable condition. Overall, it is an excellent display piece complete with metal stand.
