Large glass bottle of large fragments of rare mummy-wrappings dating from Egypt's Third Intermediate Period, Dynasty XXI-XXV, circa 1077-664 BC. Time of pharaohs Smendes, Shoshenq, and Taharqa.. Tan to brown color, some with dark stains from the resins and oils used during the mummification practice. Bottle H: 4 cm (1 5/8 in). Exact examples vary but are similar in appearance and condition... each one you will receive will be different and not necessarily the same as pictured. Recovered from a sarcophagus owned by BC Antiques, a Los Angeles CA gallery closed in the 1970's.

FAQ
Is this a piece taken from a human or animal mummy? Do we know which tomb this was taken from? If it’s from a human mummy, do we know the name or social status of the person that this wrapping was taken from?

These were recovered from a Third Intermediate Period human sarcophagus. I have a photo of the headpiece of the sarcophagus taken in the early 1970's. It was colorfully painted but with no hieroglyphs indicting names or titles, so the original occupant is unknown. But it was a middle-class type of coffin.
