Product Description
Antique Javanese carved and polychrome wood mask from Indonesia, circa 19th to early 20th century. Used during a Wayang topeng dance-drama, it is depicted with long nose, mustache, elongated and pointed nose, golden teeth, and wearing an engraved crown/diadem. On the inside of the mask is a tongued mouth holder used by the original actor. H: 7.25ā. Some chips and dings, otherwise intact and a wonderfully displayable piece, with a wire on the back making it ready to be hung on a wall.
Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity which includes all the details, culture, dating, motifs/inscriptions when applicable, historical relevance, and provenance.
