RARE Large piece of mummy-wrapping linen dating from Egypt's Third Intermediate Period c. 900-700 BC. Tan to brown color, with dark stains from the resins and oils used during the mummification practice. Linen itself measures 3.75” x 2.25”, mounted in frame with informational plaque. Frame measures 7" x 5". Mummy linen fragment recovered from a sarcophagus owned by BC Antiques, Los Angeles CA gallery closed in the 1970's. A fantastic gift or display piece!
