Ancient Sumeria/Mesopotamia. Uruk / Jemdet Nasr period, c. 3300-2900 BC. Rare stone amulet in the shape of a reclining fox. Holed-through vertically for suspension, the deep grey stone with a wonderful smooth, almost silvery sheen. Light earthen deposits in the recesses. L: 31mm. From the P. Cheremisinoff estate, New Jersey.

Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity which includes all the details, culture, dating, motifs/inscriptions when applicable, historical relevance, and provenance.
