Product Description
RARE Large piece of mummy-wrapping linen dating from Egypt's Third Intermediate Period c. 900-700 BC, the time of pharaohs Smendes, Shoshenq, and Taharqa. Tan to brown color, with dark stains from the resins and oils used during the mummification practice. Linen itself measures 5” x 2.5”, mounted in frame with informational plaque. Frame measures 7" x 5". Mummy linen fragment recovered from a sarcophagus owned by BC Antiques, Los Angeles CA gallery closed in the 1970's. A fantastic gift or display piece!
