Medieval Armenia, time of the Crusades. Cilician Kingdom, King Hetoum (Hethum) I, 1226 - 1270 AD. Large copper Tank, set into custom .925 silver bezel and 21.5-inch heavy gauge Italian silver chain. Coin depicts a Potent cross with four stars along with an Armenian inscription: “Struck in the City of Sis”. On the reverse, a King seated cross-legged on a throne adorned with lions, holding a globus cruciger and fleur-de-lis with Armenian inscription: “Hetoum King of the Armenians”. Pierced in antiquity to be worn! Great detail, nice dark coppery tone.
