Holy Land. Roman period, c. 2nd-4th century AD. A neat Roman terracotta oil lamp, the top decorated with a palm tree, impressed designs around the edges, small pinched handle. The spout is still charred from ancient use! Intact, with heavy earthen and mineral deposits which somewhat obscure the decorations.
