An incredible and very large faience scarab bearing the hieroglyphic name of Pharaoh Thutmose IV, 1412-1402 BC. The scarab itself is a work of art from antiquity, with high, arched body and well-defined legs, and highly detailed head and body, while the base is engraved with the hieroglyphic name of Pharaoh Thutmose IV, Men—Kheperu-Ra” which translates to “Established manifestations of Ra”. The scarab measures nearly an inch in length, and has excellent blue-green color that has remained for over 3400 years. Along with the scarab comes a custom wood base with clay impression of the underside. Entire display measures 2”L x 1”W x 1.5”H. Ex Glassman collection, Florida; ex London, UK gallery.
