Product Description

Fossil Mosasaur Teeth, Cretaceous–Paleogene period, 145-66 million years old. A rare assemblage of 10 ancient dinosaur teeth, ranging in size from 3/4” to 1 1/4” in length. Each nicely-preserved with dark brown to tan coloration, ancient mineral encrustations overall. You can still feel the serrations on some of them, still quite sharp!

During the last 20 million years of the Cretaceous period (Turonian-Maastrichtian ages), with the extinction of the ichthyosaurs and pliosaurs, mosasaurs became the dominant marine predators. They became extinct as a result of the K-Pg event at the end of the Cretaceous period, about 66 million years ago.
