Fantastic "Pirate" Pistol // French Made in 1780
Product Description
A fantastic and classic “Pirate” gun, tough to find with this character. A French made Leclerc ornate flintlock pistol, made circa 1780. The entire pistol measures 10 inches long, with a 5” barrel, the wood with a rich, deep brown patina and the iron fixtures with wonderfully engraved details. The “snake-skin” checkered wood grip is well worn from use in olden times, and there are dings and dents in the wood and finish loss on the barrel from that same extensive use, but this gives it truly remarkable character and charm. The mechanism functions properly, holding at half and full cock, and the action is strong, although dry-firing it is strongly not recommended. Ex Tallahassee, Florida private collection. ** This is an antique, and not warranted safe to shoot without restoration and the aid of a skilled professional.
