Excellent Pre-Inca Arrowhead // 1500 BC - 400 AD
Product Description
Pre-Inca, most likely Wankarani or Chiripa culture, Bolivia, South America (1500 BC - 400 AD). A fantastic large stone arrowhead. Incredibly rare! These are far less common than Inca artifacts and show an exceptional level of workmanship. Collected in the 1940's by a Bolivian native. The arrowhead measures 2 1/4” long with finely graduated denticulations (toothed edges). From the Altiplano area of the Cochabamba region between Lake Titicaca and Lake Poopo. That would most likely make them either Wankarani or Chiripa culture, dating from as early as 1500 BC to as late as 400 AD. This example is just fantastic, and still so sharp! Mounted in archival magnetic frame (frame measures 4” x 4”). Ex York, PA collection.
