Product Description
Ancient China, Western Han Dynasty, circa 2nd Century BC - 2nd Century AD. An excellent large Chinese ceramic granary jar. With flat bottom, tapering sides, rounded shoulder, and wide flaring mouth; incised linear decoration around the body. Clear finger-lines from the ancient maker still visible on the inside! ref: Cox, Figure 186-8 for type. Intact, with some surface wear. Exceptionally well-preserved, with dark gray surfaces, light earthen deposits. Could still be used to store or display dried goods or flowers!
