Holy Land, Old Testament Period. Bronze Age, c. 2000 BC painted terracotta vessel. A wonderfully preserved ancient terracotta vessel from the Holy Land, dating to Old Testament times, c. 2000 BC. The body is round, with two small lug handles, and short spoilt with widely glared rim. The body is painted in brick red paint in an intricate “net-like” geometric design. Fine quality and condition, with minor wear, otherwise intact! H: 4.75”, W: 4”. From the collection of Dr Alan Burghauser, New Jersey, acquired from David Hendin (Author of “Guide to Biblical Coins”) in the 1990’s.
