Product Description
A wonderful, large Classic Mayan polychrome olla dating from the 5th-8th century AD. It has a round, bulbous body and two large handles, and features a zoomorphic head at the spout. The body is decorated with two registers of polychrome decorations in black, red, and green. It measures 7.5" H x 8" W, and weighs 3.4 lbs! The flared rim has chips and losses, and there are abrasions and some losses to the exterior, otherwise intact and a wonderful example with scattered earthen and mineral deposits.
