Ancient Egypt, Old Kingdom, c. 2686 - 2181 BCE. Rare Egyptian marble cosmetic vessel from the time of the pyramid-builders! The body is ovoid with flattened bottom, the neck is narrow with wide mouth and flattened rim. The interior is well hollowed, and the vessel is fashioned from attractive creme colored stone with light deposits.
