The front depicts the Crusader cross of the Teutonic Knights upon a shield, MAGISTRI · LIVONIE around in Latin (uncial) script (Translation: Magistri Livoniae) / The back shows a large central cross with one pellet in the quadrant, MON - ETA - RVA - LIE (Translation: ,Moneta Revaliensis - Coin of Reval). Encapsulated and certified About Uncirculated by NGC! The order was formed from the remnants of the “Livonian Brothers of the Sword” after their defeat by Samogitians in 1236 at the Battle of Schaulen, after which they were incorporated into the Teutonic Knights and became known as the Livonian Order in 1237.
