Ancient Rome. Theodosius II, 402-450 AD. Small bronze AE4 coin, struck 423-425 AD. His pearl-diademed, draped, cuirassed bust right, DN THEODOSIVS PF AVG / Cross within wreath. Set into custom .925 silver bezel accented with cubic zirconia “dangle” and 18-inch .925 silver chain.
Theodosius converted the pagan temples of the empire to Christian churches, thus preserving many of them to this day, whereas otherwise they would likely have been destroyed.
