This is a cute bronze lock-face in the form of a dog (hound) with a small bird seated upon its head, Late Roman to Byzantine, c. 7th - 8th Century AD. It's heavily decorated with drilled and incised decoration throughout and has excellent detail with a lovely light green patina.
