Medieval Armenia, time of the Crusades. Cilician Kingdom, King Levon I (1198 - 1219 AD). Large copper Tank, set into custom .925 silver bezel and 20-inch Italian silver chain. Bearded leonine head of king Levon 3/4 facing front. His crown has five dots. Armenian inscription: "+ Levon King of the Armenians" / Patriarchal cross with two stars in lower field. Armenian inscription: "+ Struck in the City of Sis”. Pierced in antiquity to be worn! Great detail, nice dark coppery tone.
