Medieval Armenia, time of the Crusades. Cilician Kingdom, King Hetoum (Hethum) I, 1226 - 1270 AD. Large copper Tank, set into custom .925 silver bezel. Coin depicts: Potent cross with four stars, Armenian inscription: “Struck in the City of Sis” / King seated cross-legged on a throne adorned with lions, holding a globus cruciger and fleur-de-lis, Armenian inscription: “Hetoum King of the Armenians”. Great detail, nice coppery tone with good contrast.
