Cilician Armenia, time of the Crusades. King Hetoum (Hethum) I, 1226 - 1270 AD. Copper Kardez, set into a stunning custom silver bezel and 18" Italian silver chain. King seated cross-legged on ornate throne, dotted-circle border. Armenian inscription: “Hetoum King of the Armenians” / Potent cross with half-moon in third quadrant, lines in other three quadrants. Armenian inscription: “Struck in the City of Sis”.
