Medieval Armenia, time of the Crusades. Cilician Kingdom, King Hetoum (Hethum) I, 1226 - 1270 AD. Large copper Tank, set into custom .925 silver bezel and 19-inch Italian silver chain. Potent cross with four stars (or lines, depending on the type). Armenian inscription: “Struck in the City of Sis” / King seated cross-legged on a throne adorned with lions. He holds a globus cruciger and fleur-de-lis. Armenian inscription: “Hetoum King of the Armenians”. Pierced in antiquity to be worn! Great detail, nice dark coppery tone.
