Product Description
Coptic Egypt. Roman period, c. 4th - 7th Century AD. A nice Coptic bone ornament carved in the form of a standing person, with incised detail and well-shaped head. Light patination. Perhaps adorned a box, or piece of furniture or was used as a doll.
Mr. Rilling died in 2008, stopped collecting in the 1990’s. Mr. Rilling selected the items for his collection carefully, acquiring them bit by bit from major auction houses in the US and the UK.
