Ancient Viking Bronze Ring // 8th-11th Cent. AD
Product Description
A marvelous Viking bronze finger-ring, dating from the 8th-11th century AD. A simple bronze band, once silvered, the upper portion decorated in a “braid-like” design, worn down from ancient wear and use. The bottom of the ring is worn thin and a bit chipped, making it probably not safely wearable, but a great display piece nonetheless. Outside width 24mm, with olive-green patina and some silvery sheen. US ring size approximately 8. Viking rings like this were said to bring power to the wearer. This is an excellent example of Scandinavian Viking jewelry of this period. Ex Eastern European private collection.
